Principal's Page

My name is Joy Shmueli and I am the proud principal of McKinley Elementary School. I have been an educator most of my life (I've working with children since I was in high school), but my career began officially when I started teaching in 1994 at Borel Middle School in San Mateo. Since then I have been a middle school assistant principal, elementary school assistant principal, elementary school principal and principal on special assignment working to support district projects.

 

I love working with children. Whether I'm teaching, observing, getting to know them or working in the background, knowing that I am a part of their educational journey gives me such happiness and pride.

 

I enjoy watching sports (my favorite teams are the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and yes, the Dallas Cowboys), baking, cooking, and traveling. But most of all, I love spending time with my son...relaxing, watching him on the baseball diamond, traveling to new places or roadtripping to favorite spots.
